Kolkata: inDrive, a global mobility and urban services platform, has partnered with the Regional Transport Office, Chinsurah, Dist- Hooghly to observe Road Safety Month. On this special occasion, inDrive distributed helmets to riders.The initiative aimed to sensitise people to the significance of road safety and mitigate the chances of mishaps.
Regional Transport Office, Chinsurah, Dist- Hooghly organised organised Road Safety event today in presence of Shri Snehasis Chakraborty, Hon’ble Cabinet Minister for Transport, Government of West Bengal, along with Smt Mukta Arya, DM- Hooghly and Shri Amit P Javalgi, Police Commissioner of Chandannagar.

Through smart features like real-time GPS tracking, trip-sharing options with family and friends, 24/7 emergency support, and the ability to directly set the fare with drivers, inDrive offers greater autonomy and safety to passengers on every ride,” said Nirmal Panda, Lead, Government Relations-India, inDrive.

Approximately 328 lives are lost daily due to road accidents in India, according to MyGov.in. India ranks first in the number of road accident deaths across 199 countries and accounts for almost 11% of all accident-related deaths in the world. According to ‘Road Accidents in India Report for 2022’ by the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways, though road accidents in India fell by 6% in a decade to 2022, a higher percentage of these were fatal crashes–an increase from 25% of all accidents in 2012 to 33% in 2022. Hence, deaths from road accidents increased by 22% during this period.
