16th August 2024, Kolkata: The students of the SPK Jain Futuristic Academy visited the NDRF (National Disaster Response Force) Camp to celebrate the festival of Raksha Bandhan with the brave heroes of NDRF.
The National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) is a specialized force in India established under the Disaster Management Act of 2005. Formed on January 19, 2006, it operates under the Ministry of Home Affairs and is tasked with responding to natural and man-made disasters across the country. Its motto is “आपदा सेवा सदैव सर्वत्र,” which translates to “Disaster service always and everywhere.”
Dr. Jayeeta Ganguly, Principal of SPK Jain Futuristic Academy, expressed her enthusiasm for the event, stating, “By tying rakhis made with love by our students, we bring a smile to their faces and remind them of the warmth of their sisters and families”
Sri Jaydeep Patwa, Secretary of SPK Jain Futuristic Academy, said, “The NDRF Jawans are true heroes who put their lives on the line to safeguard our nation. This event is our way of acknowledging their sacrifices and letting them know that they are in our thoughts and prayers, especially during this auspicious festival.”
The event aimed to bring the warmth of home to the NDRF heroes who sacrifice their home comforts to protect India. The Rakhis made by the students were a token of love and honour to the heroes. This event was successful in bringing the warmth of home to the jawans who miss the comfort of their home for the country.
