Showcasing Innovation and Technical Excellence

Kolkata, April 23rd, 2026: JIS College of Engineering successfully hosted its annual technical festival, “JISTech2K26,” at its campus in Kalyani.
The two-day event aimed to foster innovative technological solutions addressing socio-environmental and industrial challenges. It witnessed enthusiastic participation from 33 educational institutions, with a total of 283 projects competing across various categories.
The inaugural ceremony was graced by eminent dignitaries, with Dr. S. M. Ali, Executive Secretary of ISTE, New Delhi, attending as the Chief Guest. The Guests of Honour included Prof. Neeraj Saxena, Pro-Chancellor of JIS University, and Prof. Debashis De of Maulana Abul Kalam Azad University of Technology. The programme was further enriched by the presence of Sardar Taranjit Singh, Managing Director, JIS Group, and Sardar Simarpreet Singh, Director, JIS Group. Their inspiring addresses encouraged students to innovate and contribute meaningfully to technological advancement.
JISTech2K26 featured a diverse array of technical and non-technical events, fostering an engaging and competitive environment for participants. Key highlights included Game O’ Fun, Code-Fluenza (coding competition), App-e-Teaser, Science Quiz, Robotics, B-Plan and Start-up Proposals, and Dig-CAD. These events catered to varied interests, enabling students to demonstrate their skills in programming, innovation, design, and problem-solving.
Participants showcased projects aligned with contemporary themes such as AI-enabled smart systems, disaster management, advanced healthcare technologies, robotics and IoT-driven automation, sustainable and green engineering, and management in the technology-driven era. These themes underscored a strong emphasis on addressing real-world challenges through modern technology and interdisciplinary approaches.
The projects were evaluated by more than 20 industry experts, ensuring fair assessment and alignment with practical applications. Their valuable insights and feedback enabled participants to better understand industry expectations and refine their innovations for future development.
The festival also featured a prize pool of up to ₹2.5 lakhs, robust industry-academia interaction, and high-quality interdisciplinary projects that highlighted the creativity and technical competence of the participants. Overall, JISTech2K26 emerged as a grand success, fostering innovation, collaboration, and providing a dynamic platform for students to showcase their talent and develop impactful technological solutions.
