Imaging Orthopods – 5th Annual Photography Exhibition Birla Academy of Art & Culture, Kolkata

Published:

Sometimes the hands that heal also pause—to observe light, shadow, silence, and the poetry hidden within everyday moments.

Imaging Orthopods, a collective of Bengal’s distinguished senior orthopaedic surgeons, once again invited the city into a world where science met art through the 5th Annual Photography Exhibition. Beyond their lives in operation theatres and hospital corridors, these doctors shared another quiet devotion — the art of photography.

Each frame in the exhibition was not merely an image, but a reflection of minds trained to observe, hearts that understand human stories, and eyes that discover beauty in fleeting moments.

This year’s exhibition was dedicated to the loving memory of Dr. Gautam Basu, whose life embodied the delicate balance between the precision of medicine and the sensibility of art. His legacy continued to glow softly through every photograph displayed.

The occasion was also attended by Dr. Indrajit Sardar, Dr. Aniruddha Kirtania, Dr. Bhaskar Das, Dr. Arnab Kundu, Dr. Kunal Sengupta, Dr. Chinmay Nath, Dr. Abhijit Sarbabadhikary, Dr. Malay Mandal, and Dr. Debasis Chatterjee.

Members of the press and media were invited to the Inauguration and Press Meet, an evening where art, conversation, and inspiration gathered under one roof.

As the doors opened at the Birla Academy of Art & Culture, a constellation of eminent personalities graced the occasion, including:

– Mr. Anjan Dutta – singer, filmmaker, and storyteller
