The screen bandits of Devi Chaudhurani have gloriously triumphed at the esteemed 2nd South Asian Sports Lathi Championship recently held in Thimphu, Bhutan, showcasing remarkable skill and valor. Despite facing fierce competition from talented athletes across South Asia, the Indian team emerged victorious, claiming top honors in various categories, closely followed by Bhutan in second place.
The much-anticipated film “Devi Chowdhurani,” directed by National Award Winner Subhrojeet Mitra and starring the exceptional cast of Srabanti Chatterjee and Prosenjeet Chatterjee, has been the talk of the town since filming began.
Adding to the anticipation surrounding the project, the film’s action advisor, renowned interdisciplinary artist and educator Prajna Dutta, who will also be seen playing a pivotal role in the film demonstrated exceptional prowess on the lathi battlefield, winning the gold in Lathi Yuddh and the silver in Lathi Pradarshan at this esteemed championship in the Open Category. Dutta, representing his country with unparalleled skill and dedication and played a crucial role in team India’s win. The phenoms of this team were coached by his co-actor and martial artist Arup Chakraborty.
Souvik Jamadar secured a gold, a silver, and a bronze medal in the above 21 and under 30 category , while Supriyo Dolui claimed two gold medals in the under 18 category. Sayok Chakraborty achieved a gold and a silver under 16 category , and Piyush Singh earned a silver and a bronze in under 18 category . All the above mentioned players are a part of the Devi Chowdhurani action team.Through collaborative effort and under the guidance of their coach Arup Chakraborty and the association president Shri Jahar Das, the team worked together seamlessly to clinch the championship title.
