Kolkata: With Durga Puja just around the corner, Tring Tring Calcutta, the city’s brand new telephone-themed restaurant known for its nostalgic 90s music and retro ambience, hosted a special festive afternoon celebrating the flavours and spirit of Bengal with ‘Mahabhoj’.
Held on September 28, the afternoon brought together members of the media and guests for a celebration of food, nostalgia and festive conversations against the picturesque backdrop of the River Hooghly.
The ‘Mahabhoj’ experience is a culinary celebration of Bengal, bringing together the rich and vibrant flavours of Bengali cuisine in a festive buffet. Conceptualised around the quintessential Bengali love for food during Durga Puja, the spread featured traditional flavours and festive favourites designed to evoke the warmth of Puja celebrations at home.
Adding to the afternoon were special guests Ushashi and Susmit, who joined the celebration and enjoyed the festive experience at Tring Tring Calcutta. Their presence added to the lively and convivial atmosphere of the afternoon.
True to its identity, Tring Tring Calcutta brought its signature telephone-inspired décor and nostalgic 90s musical ambience to the celebration. The combination of retro music, Bengali food and the riverside setting created a distinctive festive experience that brought together nostalgia and the spirit of contemporary Kolkata.
Speaking about the celebration, Pritam Choudhury, General Manager Polo Floatel Calcutta said, “Mahabhoj is our way of celebrating the spirit of Durga Puja through one of Bengal’s greatest loves — food. With Mahabhoj, we wanted to create a spread that celebrates the authentic flavours of Bengal while giving our guests a festive experience filled with nostalgia. Every dish has been thoughtfully curated to capture the essence of a Bengali Puja feast.”
The Mahabhoj festive buffet will be available at Tring Tring Calcutta from October 15 to October 20, inviting guests to celebrate the Puja season with an indulgent spread of Bengali flavours, music and the unmistakable festive spirit of Kolkata.
