The phoenix screenplay writing and Direction given by Paayel Chouudhury, a young a multitalented Writer-Director, based in Kolkata, she has done 95+ short films for several OTT Platforms, a full-length Hindi released full length feature film and a web series. Several
of her short films and her bilingual full length feature film got multiple international awards
and official selections. She started her film journey from 2002.
The phoenix highlighting 2 main issues with its unique twist and turn drama- dementia and its effect upon the people who are suffering it and the suffering of the people, who are accompanying them, who loves them. Second issue is the aspirations of the generation,
their hope, disappointment, anxiety and their self-harming suicidal tendencies when they can’t reach to their goals. But it’s not a dark story. It’s a fight back story of a girl, by the help of her friend, philosopher, and guide- who is a psychotherapist and psychologist.
It’s a story of their unconditional selfless Devine platonic love also- It’s a well-made mid length English short film- picturized beautifully in the midst of beautiful locations of Kolkata and Mandarmani. A short film with a beautiful song- Sunshine of Life- written by Joydip Chakraborty, Music composed brilliantly by Soumya Sarkar. It has been roaming around different international and national festivals.
Trailer & Music has been launched on 2nd December, 2024. Theatrical release & film screening will be done on January.
