Kolkata, 12 October 2026: Suraksha Diagnostics Limited today introduced its advanced MRI and CT capabilities at Mukundapur, strengthening access to sophisticated diagnostic imaging in Kolkata. The centre brings together the uMR 780 AI-enabled 3T MRI and the uCT 780 160-slice CT scanner to support doctors with detailed diagnostic information and help make the scanning experience more manageable for patients.
For patients undergoing an MRI, the need to remain still, scanning noise and anxiety about the examination can be significant concerns. The uMR 780 combines technologies that address different aspects of this experience. AI-assisted Compressed Sensing, or ACS, accelerates image acquisition to reduce the time spent holding still. QScan reduces acoustic noise in supported scanning sequences, while soft, flexible SuperFlex coils conform to the body for a more comfortable fit. Actual scan duration and the benefits of these features depend on the examination and the patient.

For doctors, the MRI system’s 3-tesla magnet and dedicated coils support detailed imaging across body regions. DeepRecon uses deep learning to reduce image noise and improve the visibility of anatomical structures. These images, together with the radiologist’s interpretation, provide information to support diagnosis, treatment planning and follow-up.
The uCT 780 supports advanced cardiac imaging, producing detailed views of the coronary arteries. Its rapid rotation and cardiac phase-selection tools help capture the moving heart, while dedicated analysis tools assist radiologists in evaluating narrowing and plaque. DELTA, its deep-learning reconstruction technology, reduces image noise and supports dose optimisation, with the clinical team selecting the protocol for each patient. The system also supports chest and abdominal assessment, extending its use across a wider range of clinical needs.

“Behind every scan is a person seeking answers and a doctor deciding the next step. Our investment at Mukundapur is intended to support both. We are bringing advanced diagnostic capabilities closer to the people of Kolkata, with greater attention to the patient’s experience and the quality of information available to doctors. This reflects Suraksha’s continuing commitment to the city’s healthcare needs,” said Dr. Somnath Chatterjee, Chairman and Managing Director, Suraksha Diagnostics Limited.
“Patients often worry about how long a scan will take, how it will feel and whether they can remain still. These concerns matter when we invest in technology. At Mukundapur, capabilities that shorten MRI acquisition, reduce scanning noise and improve positioning comfort sit alongside tools that help radiologists examine anatomical detail. Our focus is on making advanced diagnostics more accessible for patients and more useful to the doctors caring for them,” said Ms. Ritu Mittal, CEO, Suraksha Diagnostics Limited.
The media interaction also highlighted the growing importance of preventive healthcare and timely assessment in breast health and cardiac care.
Coinciding with Breast Cancer Awareness Month, the discussion emphasised awareness, attention to relevant symptoms and family history, and access to appropriate clinical assessment and investigations.
Through the Mukundapur investment, Suraksha is expanding local access to advanced imaging while connecting technological capability with the needs of patients and referring doctors. The aim is to support clinical assessment and care decisions through detailed images, expert interpretation and a more manageable examination experience.
