South Point School and South Point High School celebrated academic excellence, talent and holistic development at their Annual Prize Distribution Ceremony, bringing together students, parents, teachers, alumni and eminent guests for an evening that recognised outstanding achievements while reaffirming the institutions’ commitment to nurturing well-rounded individuals.
The ceremony was graced by Dr. Indranil Khan, Minister of State (Independent Charge) for the Departments of Youth Services & Sports and Consumer Affairs, and a distinguished South Point alumnus, who addressed the gathering and presented awards to meritorious students.
The programme commenced with the Invocatory Song and the School Song, followed by the Welcome Address by Dalbir Kaur Chadda, Principal, South Point School, who highlighted the academic, co-curricular and institutional achievements of South Point School and South Point High School during the past academic year.

Jaidev Ghosh, Principal, South Point High School, joined S. K. Daga, Trustees & Governing Council, and A. C. Chakraborty and Rupa Sanyal Bhattacherjee, Directors of South Point Education Society, in felicitating the award recipients.
Students from Classes II to XII were honoured for exceptional academic performance, with prizes presented to class toppers and those securing the top ten ranks. Prestigious recognitions, including the M. P. Birla Smarak Kosh Founder’s Medal for Best All-Rounder, the Award for Excellence in Co-curricular Activities and the M. P. Birla Special Talent Award, were also conferred. House prizes and awards for winners of the inter-school “Kalakosh” competitions under the aegis of M. P. Birla Smarak Kosh were presented during the ceremony. The Puja with a Heart Award was conferred on Dumdum Park Tarun Sangha for its sustained contribution to social service.
The second half of the evening featured original cultural productions by students of both schools. South Point School’s Aladdin transported the audience into a magical world through music, dance and theatre, celebrating courage, kindness and hope.

South Point High School’s Lost Pages explored the growing dependence on digital screens while encouraging children to rediscover the enduring joy of reading through beloved comic characters, delivering a powerful message on imagination, creativity and meaningful learning.
