Sobisco Fresh Debuts in Kolkata, Marking Entry into Urban Retail Bakery Segment

Kolkata, 17th April 2025: Sona Biscuits Ltd. hosted a special afternoon to mark the grand launch of their new exclusive retail bakery store, Sobisco Fresh, at Kankurgachi in Kolkata. The event welcomed media and guests to the fresh flavours of premium baking and showcased the brand’s commitment to quality and innovation in the bakery segment.
The newly opened Sobisco Fresh bakery chain, located at Shyam Kunj, P – 30/2, CIT road, offers a wide range of freshly baked cakes, pastries, savouries like puffs and patties, along with the complete collection of packaged biscuits and cakes under the Sobisco brand. The launch event included an exclusive food tasting session and allowed visitors to experience first-hand the warmth and flavour Sobisco brings to its products.
Sobisco, known for its focus on wholesome goodness, began its journey more than two decades ago. While the brand has built a strong presence in rural India, it is now actively expanding into urban and metro markets through tie-ups with major retail chains like Reliance, Spencer’s, Metro, and regional outlets such as Arambagh and Apna Mart. With growing demand in the quick commerce space, Sobisco products are also now available on Swiggy Instamart, and other platforms.
Under its 2024 retail expansion plan, the company introduced Sobisco Fresh as a new brand identity to build a strong local presence. With nine exclusive bakery chains already operational in Kolkata and its surroundings, the company is now planning to expand into other key cities in West Bengal and neighbouring states.
