Kolkata | 5 August 2026: The launch of Chhonde Tulir Uraan, a new Bengali poetry collection by Sumana Biswas, was held in Kolkata on 5 August 2026, bringing together literature lovers, artists, media representatives, and distinguished guests for an inspiring celebration of poetry, creativity, and self-expression.
The event was graced by Chief Guest Poulami Bose, while Sudeshna Roy moderated an engaging literary conversation. Acclaimed panelists Bonnya Bose and Chayanika Chakrabarty enriched the evening with thoughtful reflections on the book and its themes.

The launch featured the ceremonial unveiling of the book, an interactive session with the author, poetry recitations, and a book-signing, offering readers an intimate glimpse into the inspiration behind the collection. The audience appreciated the emotional depth, evocative imagery, and lyrical beauty that define the poems.

Describing the collection, Chief Guest Poulami Bose remarked:
> “A refreshing and interesting anthology of poems… Great depth and perception in the lines.”
Reflecting on the relationship between poetry and painting, Sumana Biswas shared:
“Life itself is an expansive canvas, and we are the artists shaping it through our thoughts, habits, and experiences. Just as a painter’s brush transforms a blank canvas into a work of art, a writer’s pen gives voice to emotions that often remain unspoken. Alongside these poems, I have included some of my own paintings because I believe every poem can inspire a painting, just as every painting carries the potential to become a poem or a story. My pen is my liberation, colours are my celebration, poetry is my laughter and longing, my sky and my strength, while painting is my soul.”
