Kolkata, 3rd May: Aaddya Kala Tirtham, in collaboration with Prayas, presented its much-awaited annual dance concert “Nritya Gatha” on 2nd May at Uttam Mancha from 5:30 PM onwards. The evening witnessed a vibrant confluence of tradition, creativity, and inclusivity, bringing together diverse forms.

“Nritya Gatha” was conceived as a storytelling journey through movement, where each performance reflected the essence of India’s rich cultural heritage while embracing contemporary interpretations. The programme featured an elaborate showcase of Classical, Folk, and Creative dance performances by students, highlighting months of rigorous training, discipline, and artistic expression.

The event was graced by distinguished performers such as Riddhi Bandyopadhyay and Devlina Kumar, along with a special presentation by the Avirup Sengupta Troupe. Their presence elevated the evening with powerful and engaging performances that blended grace with storytelling.

A significant highlight of the programme was the performances by the students of Prayas, an institution founded by Avirup Sengupta that works closely with special children. Their participation added a deeply moving and meaningful dimension to the event, celebrating the spirit of inclusivity and reinforcing the belief that art transcends all boundaries.

Adding further grandeur to the evening, Kumar Bhimsen from Puri presented a special performance, bringing with him a distinct cultural flavour and enriching the overall artistic experience.

Through “Nritya Gatha”, the organisers aimed to create a platform that not only nurtures young talent but also promotes cultural exchange and inclusivity. The concert stood as a testament to the unifying power of dance—where stories were told without words, emotions were shared without barriers, and every performer found a voice through movement.

The evening witnessed the presence of art enthusiasts, cultural patrons, and members of the media, making it a memorable celebration of dance and expression.
