Kolkata, 18th March, 2025: Soumen’s Workout (No Machine Zone), a renowned fitness and slimming centre, proudly marks the first anniversary of its nationwide initiative, the “Jago India Jago Fitness Campaign.” Launched on March 1, 2024, this campaign was designed to inspire Indians to embrace a healthier and more active lifestyle while addressing the country’s growing obesity crisis.
This milestone coincides with another momentous occasion—the Silver Jubilee celebration of Soumen’s Workout, commemorating 25 glorious years of relentless dedication to fitness and well-being. Over the past two and a half decades, Soumen’s Workout has built a community of fit individuals, empowering people across generations to lead healthier lives through sustainable, equipment-free fitness practices.
The Jago India Jago Fitness Campaign is driven by a singular goal—to fight obesity and transform India into a nation of health-conscious individuals. As obesity rates continue to rise, this initiative strives to educate and empower people across all age groups, making fitness a way of life rather than a choice.
Over the past year, the campaign has made a significant impact, covering 15 major cities, including Kolkata, Delhi, Jaipur, Mumbai, Hyderabad, Bangalore, Bhubaneswar, Jamshedpur, Chennai, Guwahati, Goa, Ahmedabad, Amritsar and etc. Thousands of participants, from ages 5 to 90, actively engaged in expert-led fitness sessions, personalized workouts, and motivational activities.
One of the most inspiring highlights of the campaign was the participation of individuals from different age groups—especially a 13-year-old child struggling with obesity, along with 70- and 75-year-old participants who shared their stories of staying fit through regular exercise. Their journeys became powerful testimonies to the campaign’s message: fitness has no age limit.
The campaign’s distinctive “No Machine Zone” approach provided an alternative to traditional gym workouts, making fitness more accessible and engaging for people from all walks of life. It focused on conducting fitness programs in parks, gardens, beaches, and stadiums, with sessions scheduled in the early morning and evening to accommodate diverse routines.
In addition to promoting physical fitness, Soumen’s Workout reinforced its commitment to public health by organizing awareness rallies, including the “World No Tobacco Day” march and the “World Obesity Day” rally for children. These events, running successfully for over a decade, further amplified the campaign’s message of holistic well-being.
Mr. Soumen Das, Proprietor of Soumen’s Workout , expressed his enthusiasm about this milestone, stating, “Completing one year of the ‘Jago India Jago Fitness Campaign’ is a proud moment for us. For the past 26 years, we have worked relentlessly to foster a fitness culture, and this campaign has taken our mission nationwide. Witnessing individuals of all ages, from young children to 90-year-old seniors, actively commit to a healthier lifestyle has been incredibly inspiring. We remain dedicated to expanding this movement, reaching even more cities, and making fitness a priority for every Indian. As we say—No excuses, get into fitness!”
Encouraged by the overwhelming public response, the campaign is set for further expansion, with plans to introduce fitness programs in new cities and strengthen community-driven wellness initiatives.
The success of the “Jago India Jago Fitness Campaign” underscores the growing awareness and enthusiasm for fitness in India, paving the way for a healthier future. With its strong foundation and unwavering commitment, Soumen’s Workout continues to champion fitness and well-being, ensuring that more individuals can embark on their journey towards a healthier lifestyle. As the movement gains momentum, it aims to make fitness a way of life for every Indian, breaking barriers and celebrating strength at every age.
