Florence, an initiative dedicated to sustainability and community wellbeing, successfully organized an Afforestation Drive at Lions Safari Park, Rabindra Sarobar Lake. The event saw the gracious presence of dignitaries from the Lake Authorities, members of the Rotary, and esteemed environmentalist Mr. S. M. Ghosh, whose insightful guidance enriched the initiative.
The drive focused on restoring green cover and reinforcing Florence’s commitment to environmental conservation, aligning with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal—Protect the Environment. Volunteers and participants actively planted saplings, pledging continued action towards rebuilding ecological balance for a healthier future.

Afforestation nurtures not only the planet but also the human mind—offering calm, balance, and emotional wellbeing. A greener earth creates a healthier and happier society. Planting trees strengthens environmental resilience while soothing the human spirit. Nature’s healing power plays a significant role in supporting mental health. The initiative highlighted the vital role of afforestation in improving air quality, reducing pollution, supporting biodiversity, and mitigating climate change. Beyond environmental benefits, the program emphasized the deep connection between green spaces and emotional wellness. Time spent among trees reduces stress, enhances mental clarity, and fosters peace of mind. Planting a sapling becomes both a symbolic and transformative act of healing—for individuals and the planet alike.
Florence believes that when communities plant together, they heal together. The Afforestation Drive stands as a true reflection of Florence’s vision for a cleaner, healthier, and emotionally resilient society.

Team Florence, led by Shrestha Ganguly, extends heartfelt gratitude to all dignitaries, volunteers, and supporters who contributed to the success of this meaningful environmental initiative. Florence remains committed to expanding green spaces and inspiring responsible environmental action.
