Empowering MSMEs in West Bengal Through Standardization and Self-Reliance

Kolkata 10th July 2025: A special seminar on “MSME Standardization and Certification” was organized in Kolkata by Progressive Innovators Private Limited (PIPL). The event took place at Club Verde (Ambuja Neotia). The seminar was graced by Mr. Subir Ray Chaudhuri, CEO of Progressive Innovators Pvt. Ltd., and Mrs. Moumita Ray Chaudhuri, Director and Chief of Distribution at the company. All media representatives were cordially invited and duly registered before the commencement of the program. After all media personnel had arrived, the seminar began. Mr. Subir Ray Chaudhuri delivered a 30-minute speech, followed by a 30-minute address by Mrs. Moumita Ray Chaudhuri. A 30-minute question and answer session was also held with journalists, covering topics related to Progressive Innovators Pvt. Ltd. and the MSME sector.
The discussion highlighted the crucial role of standardization in determining product quality, ensuring consistency, and achieving official certification. These processes are instrumental in enhancing the sustainability and competitive strength of micro, small, and medium enterprises. At the event, the MSME initiative under Progressive Innovators Pvt. Ltd. was formally awarded a certification of compliance.
During the discussion, Mr. Subir Ray Chaudhuri stated, “The MSME sector in West Bengal is the backbone of our economy. Standardization not only improves product quality but also enhances the ability to compete in international markets.”
Then Mrs. Moumita Ray Chaudhuri added, “With the support of government policies, cooperation from industrial bodies, and increased awareness, the MSME sector can become more efficient and self-reliant.”
