“E-Mobility Synergy 2025” Marks a New Chapter in Industry-Academia Collaboration at SURTECH

Kolkata, April 11, 2025: Dr. Sudhir Chandra Sur Institute of Technology and Sports Complex (SURTECH), a premier institution under the JIS Group, successfully hosted its maiden large-scale Industry-Academia Meet, “E-Mobility Synergy 2025, at its Dum Dum campus. The event was organised under the aegis of the JIS-Research and Advancement Centre for Electric-Mobility (JIS-RACE) — a strategic initiative to bolster research, innovation, and skill development in the field of Electric Vehicles (EVs) and emerging technologies.

The event witnessed the participation of over 30 distinguished guests, including eminent scientists, policy-makers, and corporate leaders from across the country. Among the notable attendees were Dr. Suresh Babu, Scientist E, Department of Science & Technology, Government of India; Dr. Arghya Sardar, Scientist F & Head, TFAR, TIFAC; as well as senior representatives from the U.S.-India Business Council, Lal Bahadur Shastri Institute of Management (LBSIM), and several leading players in India’s rapidly growing EV sector.

“E-Mobility Synergy 2025” served as a vital platform for collaborative dialogue on the future of electric mobility in India. The discussions centered around innovation-driven strategies, policy enablers, industry-academia partnership models, and the envisioned role of JIS-RACE as a catalyst in EV research, product development, and talent grooming. The event also highlighted SURTECH’s vision to positioning itself as a frontrunner in technological education that aligns with national goals such as Atmanirbhar Bharat and Green Mobility.
