Dil Se, Spreading Happiness Donates Ambulance to Ramakrishna Sarada Mission Matri Bhavan Hospital

Kolkata, September 6, 2025: Dil Se, Spreading Happiness organised an Ambulance Donation Ceremony at Ramakrishna Sarada Mission Matri Bhavan Hospital, Kalighat. The initiative aims to improve access to emergency healthcare for patients and the local community. The event was graced by Actor Koneenica Banerjee, Actor Shreya Pandey, West Bengal State Secretary for Youth Trinamool Congress, and Dr Pranab Das Gupta, who extended their support to the programme. The newly donated ambulance will strengthen hospital services and benefit surrounding communities.
Founded in February 2017 by Alka Dalmia, Sangeeta Thakkar, and Manju Pachisia, Dil Se began with the promotion of eco-fashion for charitable causes and has since carried out a wide range of welfare projects. These include the donation of 501 artificial limbs at Mahavir Seva Sadan, support for NGOs such as MISSING, Ek Prayas, Premashree School for the Blind, Asha Niketan, Apne Aap, and Ishwar Sankalp, as well as relief work during Cyclone Amphan and the Covid-19 pandemic. The foundation also runs a concept store that collects and sells pre-owned clothing, with proceeds directed to charity. Through its initiatives, Dil Se has contributed nearly ₹50 lakhs towards education, healthcare, rehabilitation, and community development.
Speaking at the ceremony, Manju Pachisia, Co-founder of Dil Se, said that the organisation was founded in 2017 by three friends with a simple idea to collect new or nearly new garments, create a concept store, and offer them at nominal prices to aspirational buyers who value fashion but prefer mindful spending. “Ninety percent of our proceeds are directed toward healthcare, education, and community welfare for the underprivileged. Over the past eight years we have supported many such initiatives, and today we are proud to donate an ambulance to Sharda Bhavan, run by the Sarada Mission, for women and children,” she shared.

Alka Dalmia, Co-founder at Dil Se, expressed that donating an ambulance had been a long-cherished dream for the foundation. “Since Dil Se was incorporated in 2017, we have supported many causes in healthcare, education, women’s empowerment, and the Sundarbans. Donating an ambulance has been our dream from the very beginning, and today that dream has come true. By raising funds solely through the sale of garments, we are proud to hand over this fully equipped ambulance for the benefit of underprivileged communities. This milestone reflects the power of small contributions coming together for a greater good,” she said.

Co-founder Sangeeta Thacker added that this milestone coincides with Dil Se’s eighth anniversary. “We are truly grateful as we celebrate Dil Se’s eighth anniversary. With the support of our family, friends, donors, and buyers, we have raised enough funds to donate an ambulance to Shri Ramakrishnan Sharda Mission, Matri Bhavan Hospital at Kalighat. This milestone reminds us of the power of collective giving. We welcome everyone to visit our store, contribute or shop, and join us in spreading happiness together,” she said.
