Kolkata, 4 July 2025: The Association of Professional Academic Institutions, West Bengal (APAI-WB), a collective of premier self-financed institutions in the state, organized its Pre-Counselling & Education Fair in Kolkata today at Netaji Indoor Stadium after the successful completion of Siliguri, Midnapore and Durgapur editions. Held just ahead of the WBJEE results, the fair aimed to provide students of Kolkata and surrounding districts with informed guidance on undergraduate and postgraduate academic opportunities across Engineering, Technology, Pharmacy, Architecture, and Management disciplines. The grand inauguration was graced by distinguished dignitaries including Shri Sobhandeb Chattopadhyay, MIC, Parliamentary Affairs, Govt. of W.B., Smt. Sonali Chakravarti Banerjee, Chairperson, West Bengal Joint Entrance Examinations Board & Vice-chancellor of the West Bengal State University, Dr. Dibyendu Kar, Registrar, West Bengal Joint Entrance Examinations Board,Dr. Debashis De, Professor, Department of CSE, MAKAUT WB and Nominee of the Vice Chancellor (MAKAUT,. The APAI leadership present included Shri Taranjit Singh, President, APAI-WB & Chancellor, JIS University; Shri Satyam Roychowdhury, General Secretary, APAI-WB & Chancellor, Sister Nivedita University & Techno India University-Tripura and Shri Alok Tibrewal, Treasurer, APAI-WB.

The fair served as a knowledge platform for students of Class 10, 12, and graduates, helping them explore over 85% of WBJEEB-allocated engineering and pharmacy seats available in member colleges under MAKAUT. These institutions collectively offer programs in emerging fields such as AI & ML, Cyber Security, IoT, Data Science, alongside traditional Engineering disciplines, Pharmacy, Architecture, MCA, MBA, BCA, BBA, and Hospitality Management.

Sardar Taranjit Singh, President, APAI-WB, said, “Kolkata is the academic heart of Bengal, and it was only fitting that we brought this initiative here. Our goal is to handhold students and parents through the complex admission journey and introduce them to institutions that prioritize both innovation and affordability. The overwhelming turnout today is a testament to the demand for such guidance.”

Sri Satyam Roy Chowdhury, General Secretary, APAI-WB added, “This fair is not just about showcasing institutions—it’s about showing possibilities. We want every student to dream big and know that world-class education, global opportunities, and industry-ready training are all available right here in West Bengal.
