All Bengal Private Nursing Homes & Hospital Owners Association Pushes for Effective Ayushman Bharat Implementation to Enhance Public Healthcare

Kolkata: The All Bengal Private Nursing Homes & Hospital Owners Association (PNHOA) convened its State Conference and outlined a comprehensive roadmap for strengthening healthcare delivery across West Bengal, with a special focus on the implementation of the Ayushman Bharat – Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (AB-PMJAY), the Central Government’s flagship public health insurance scheme.

The conference brought together healthcare stakeholders, hospital administrators, nursing home owners and industry representatives to deliberate on key issues affecting the state’s healthcare sector. Discussions centered on expanding affordable and quality healthcare access, enhancing public-private collaboration, ensuring sustainability of healthcare institutions, and strengthening healthcare infrastructure to meet the growing needs of the people of West Bengal.

PNHOA emphasized that effective implementation of Ayushman Bharat could significantly improve healthcare accessibility for economically vulnerable sections while creating a more integrated and efficient healthcare ecosystem. The association also highlighted the critical role played by private hospitals and nursing homes in supporting the state’s healthcare framework and catering to a substantial share of patient care services.

The conference was attended by Prof. Dr. Gautam Narayan Sarkar, President, PNHOA; Dr. Malay Pit, Chief Advisor; Ashutosh Mondal; Taher Sheik, Joint Secretary; along with healthcare stakeholders, hospital administrators, nursing home owners, and industry representatives from across the state.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Goutam Narayan Sarkar, President, All Bengal Private Nursing Homes & Hospital Owners Association (PNHOA), said, “The successful implementation of Ayushman Bharat has the potential to transform healthcare accessibility across West Bengal. Private hospitals and nursing homes remain committed to partnering with the government in delivering quality, affordable and timely healthcare services. Through collaborative efforts, policy support and healthcare innovation, we can build a stronger and more inclusive healthcare system for every citizen of the state.”

The association also announced its intent to actively engage with policymakers and stakeholders to address emerging challenges in healthcare delivery and contribute towards the long-term development of West Bengal’s public health ecosystem.
