Aditya Academy, Dumdum observes National Cancer Awareness Day with 3 km Silent Walk, followed by Awareness Talk & Nukkad Natak.

Published:

The Interact Club of Aditya Academy Senior Secondary Dumdum, took a noble initiative and commemorated National Cancer Awareness Day on 7th November 2025 through a meaningful public awareness initiative involving all the students of school that included a 3 km Silent Walkathon, an Awareness Talk by medical professionals, and a thought-provoking Street Play on the open lobby of Diamond Plaza mall.

The day began with over a hundred students from Grade VIII onwards participated in a Silent Walkathon, wearing purple ribbon badges to express their solidarity with cancer survivors and their families. The walk culminated at Diamond Plaza Mall, the Venue Partner, where students staged a powerful Nukkad Natak in the mall’s front lobby. The performance resonated deeply with the audience, spreading messages of awareness, empathy, and hope. The programme continued with an inspiring talk by two doctors Dr Raktim and Dr Samrat from ILS Hospital, the Healthcare Partner for the event. The doctors emphasized the importance of early detection, lifestyle awareness, and community support in combating cancer. Their address helped sensitize students to both the medical and emotional dimensions of the illness. The alumni of Aditya Academy, Dr Aditya Srimali and pursuing medical student Sreya also brought the panel alive.

Speaking on the occasion, Ms Sabita Saha, Director-Academics, Aditya Academy Group of Schools, said:
“This initiative reflects the spirit of our students — empathetic, aware, and socially responsible. By taking learning beyond classrooms, we nurture young citizens who believe that awareness and compassion can drive real change.”
The event stood as a fine example of how education and community service converge to create social impact, the idea on which Aditya Group has always thrived upon.

The Aditya Group extends heartfelt thanks to Diamond Plaza Mall for their support as Venue Partner and to ILS Hospital for their invaluable association as Health Partner, whose collaboration made this awareness drive impactful and meaningful.
