Kolkata, 31st October 2025: Aditya Academy, Dumdum celebrated Halloween with an imaginative theme — “Where West Meets East”, blending Western traditions with the storytelling legacy of Indian cinema. The campus transformed into a vibrant space of creativity and culture.
Primary School students drew inspiration from Satyajit Ray’s “Bhooter Raja Dilo Bor”, reviving Gupi Gayen Bagha Bayin in a positive, imaginative light. Through music and dramatization, they portrayed how “good spirits” inspire courage, kindness, and creativity — reminding everyone that Bengali folklore too has its own witty and wise ghosts.

Middle School students showcased the Western side of Halloween with lively costumes, pumpkin décor, and themed choreography. From vampires and witches to fairytale ghosts and superheroes, they celebrated fear as fun through creativity.
The corridors displayed a beautiful mix of spooky and traditional art — clay jack-o’-lanterns beside terracotta masks, spider webs woven with alpana motifs — symbolizing the event’s cultural fusion.

Academic Director Mrs. Sabita Saha said,
“The theme ‘Where West Meets East’ reflects our belief that education should nurture cultural appreciation and global awareness together. Our children celebrated Halloween not just as a Western festivity but as a bridge between worlds — where Ray’s ghosts could meet Hollywood’s in perfect harmony.”
Principal Mrs. Anshu Sinha added,
“At Aditya Academy, our Halloween celebration is not just about costumes and fun—it’s about blending cultures, where the West meets the East. We believe education goes beyond textbooks, it must nurture creativity, social awareness and holistic growth in every student.”

The celebration concluded with a vibrant parade, spreading the message that creativity knows no boundaries and storytelling unites cultures across continents.
