Kolkata 14th October 2026: What happens when Sukumar Ray’s imaginative and magical world, where nothing quite makes sense meets the grand celebrations of Durga Puja? Bingo! TedheMedhe brings this unique confluence to life with ‘Abol Tabol Addakhana’ at Rajdanga Naba Uday Sangha Puja Pandal with a celebration inspired by Ray’s iconic creation – the world of Abol Tabol.
For generations of Bengalis, Abol Tabol has been synonymous with quirky characters, witty verses and an imagination where the rules of the real world simply don’t apply. In its own way, Bingo! Tedhe Medhe shares this spirit of the unconventional. Just as a unique combination of ingredients come together to create Bingo! Tedhe Medhe’s unmistakably twisted shape, the wonderfully unexpected world of Abol Tabol brings together a unique cast of characters and ideas that are beyond the ordinary.
Inaugurated by Tollywood actress Ditipriya Roy, the Abol Tabol Addakhana transforms the Puja environment into an immersive and humourous world inspired by Abol Tabol. Iconic characters including Hukomukho Hyangla, Kumropotash, Hansjaru, Ramgorurer Chhana, Katukutu Buro, Bokochchhop and Gangaram step out of the pages and into the real world festivities, surrounded by quirky signages, tilted structures, wavy frames, distorted mirrors and chaat stalls serving local favourites with a Bingo! Tedhe Medhe twist.
But this is no museum of Abol Tabol. This is an interactive experience designed for participation where the ‘Abol Tabol Addakhana’ invites visitors to join the fun through games, performances and personalised digital experiences. At the heart of the experience is ‘Dhunuchi Dhumdhakka, Dhaaker Taale Tedhe Medhe’ — a high-energy game for a group of friends or family, that brings together the quintessential sounds and spirit of Durga Puja with the wonderfully unpredictable world of Abol Tabol.
The Addakhana and the world of Abol Tabol come to life through characters, verses, murals, banners and road graphics, while live performers interact with visitors through humour and spontaneous performances. Whimsical visual cues turn the surroundings of the Addakhana into a playful canvas inspired by Abol Tabol.
Adding a digital dimension is the AI-powered Naam Daak Zone, where visitors can transform themselves into Abol Tabol-inspired characters, complete with personalised names and ‘Banglish’ rhymes designed to be shared on social media.
Together, these experiences bring the beloved literary masterpiece of Abol Tabol from the world of surrealism into an interactive and immersive celebration of Durga Pujo with Bingo! Tedhe Medhe.
Commenting on the initiative, Mr. Atul Pujar, Vice President & Head of Marketing – Snacks, Noodles & Pasta, ITC Limited, said: “At Bingo! Tedhe Medhe, we believe that something truly distinctive comes from bringing together elements that are anything but ordinary. It is this combination of ingredients that gives Bingo! TedheMedhe its unmistakably twisted shape, just as the coming together of quirky characters, witty verses and unexpected ideas makes Abol Tabol so unique. With Abol Tabol Addakhana, we wanted to bring these magical and unconventional worlds together this Durga Puja and create a space where people can embrace their own quirks, connect over shared laughter and create their own Tedha Medha moments.”
Ditipriya Roy, who inaugurated the experience, said: “Abol Tabol has always been a part of our childhood, but I don’t think I’ve ever experienced it quite like this! The whole Addakhana feels like you’ve stepped into Abol Tabol’s world — and then made it a little more ‘TedheMedhe’. The characters, the games, the dhaak, the energy… there is something happening everywhere. It isa playful, funny and a very unique way to celebrate Pujo — exactly the kind of experience you want to share with your friends and family.”
With Abol Tabol Addakhana, Bingo! TedheMedhe invites people to step into a world where the unexpected is the norm, the familiar gets a playful twist and every corner offers a new reason to come together this Pujo!
