Kolkata 21st August 2025: Asha Next Gen proudly presents The Easel, a band that seeks to carry forward the rich legacy of Bengali Jeebonmukhi (life-oriented) songs while blending it seamlessly with the spirit of post-modern rock-and-roll. For The Easel, music is not merely about songs—it is a living canvas, a theatrical flow, a painting that reflects the inevitable ups and downs of everyday life.
Easel’s debut album, “Bikeler Gaan,” captures these emotions through a series of narratives that echo everyday struggles, love, and hope. The first track, “Hawa Re,” released on 21st August, portrays a city and its weather as witnesses to the delicate fabric of a relationship. It goes beyond fingers intertwined with vows for brighter days—it is about standing together in every battle, cherishing the eternal indebtedness of an enchanted lover’s words. It draws from the suburbs, tea stalls, the essence of the body, and the echoes of past wounds, creating a soundscape both deeply personal and universally relatable.
