
Dumdum, July 22, 2025 — The Interact Club of Aditya Academy Senior Secondary, Dumdum, in collaboration with the Rotary Club of Calcutta Samaritans, successfully organized a Panel Discussion on the Prevention of Thalassemia and Cervical Cancer, with the objective of sensitizing students and the school community on these critical health issues.
The event commenced with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp, followed by a soulful opening song and an elegant dance performance by the students, setting the tone for a meaningful and insightful morning.
Principal delivered the welcome address, emphasizing the importance of preventive health education and community awareness in shaping responsible citizens of tomorrow.
The school was honoured by the presence of Ms. Kasturi Kejriwal, Chief Operating Officer, and Ms. Sabita Saha, Director-Academics, from the Aditya Group. Their encouraging words and support reinforced the group’s commitment to holistic education and student well-being.

The session shed light on early screening, genetic awareness, vaccination, and the importance of youth-led advocacy in health education. The interactive exchange of questions and reflections from the students made the session even more impactful.
Ms. Sampa Chowdhuri, Chair, District Thalassemia Committee, delivered the concluding remarks, appreciating the initiative and calling upon students to become informed ambassadors of health in their communities.
Also present were Rotarian Vaijayanti Bose and Ms. Anita Bagaria, President of the Rotary Club of Calcutta Samaritans, whose inspiring presence and support added depth to the program’s objectives.
