Kolkata, 23 June,2025: Tollywood diva Srabanti Chatterjee has turned presenter for a Bengali movie titled Daanter Lorai. In a first for Srabanti Chatterjee, the actress is presenting a movie. The movie Daanter Lorai is being directed by Biplob Koyal and tells the tale of a poverty stricken rural girl who loves to relish a popular candy named ‘Daanter Lorai’.
About her association with the movie Srabanti said, “Daanter Lorai is a very soul touching movie. When director Biplob Koyal and his team approached me to present this movie, I wanted to watch the movie first. After watching Daanter Lorai, I felt that it is a very well-made movie and have a lot of emotional appeal which will surely touch the audience. So, I decided to present the movie as I felt this kind of cinema needs to reach bigger number of audience. Also this is my first outing as a presenter and I am very excited for this new responsibility. I am glad that I am being able to contribute to the Bengali Cinema and the extended family of Bengali movie Industry in different ways other than as an actor too.”
Child artist Akansha Sengupta will be seen as the central character of Khuku while Abhilash Chakrabarty plays her father Danu and Swastika Das will be seen as Khuku’s mother. Partha Ghatak, Chaitali Jana and Bablu Banerjee will be playing other pivotal characters in the movie.
The story and script has been written by director Biplab Koyal. Bubay Halder has executed the dual responsibility of the both the cinematographer and editor.
In the music department Subir Chatterjee has provided music for the title song which has been sung by Debopriyao Das. Arijit Kishore Ray has sung the ‘Raat Pohaile’ while Parijat Chakrabarty has lent voice to Ghumer Desher Rani and also has composed the track’s music. Dipankar Ghosh and Abhilash Chakraborty is the lyricist of the movie.
The movie is releasing on 11th July.
