Alipurduar – The Confluence recently organized a two-day nationwide cultural festival, “Bharat Gatha,” at Kalkut Forest Basti, Alipurduar, celebrating the rich and vibrant cultural heritage of India’s tribal communities.
The festival featured 25 performers, including traditional dancers, singers, and musicians from tribal backgrounds, who showcased their artistic expressions through captivating performances. These performances beautifully reflected the community’s deep-rooted connection with nature, folklore, and ancestral traditions, offering the audience an immersive cultural experience.
The primary aim of “Bharat Gatha” was to raise awareness about the social and cultural traditions of tribal communities. The Confluence has been dedicated to preserving the unique artistic expressions of India’s indigenous groups, including their songs, dances, paintings, and oral traditions.
Speaking about the initiative, a representative from The Confluence stated:
“Our goal with ‘Bharat Gatha’ was to highlight the invaluable heritage of tribal communities and inspire younger generations to preserve and cherish these ancient traditions.”
