New Delhi: India’s leading cryptocurrency platform WazirX has released its ‘India Crypto Trends Report: H1 2026’, highlighting a strong recovery in investor confidence following the platform’s relaunch. According to the report, 95% of traders who resumed trading after the relaunch were returning users, while 5% were first-time traders joining the platform.
The report reveals that 50.8% of users are between the ages of 25 and 34, while nearly 80% fall within the 25–44 age group, underscoring that young working professionals continue to drive crypto adoption in India. Additionally, over 82% of verified users come from non-metro cities, reflecting the growing acceptance of digital assets across the country.
The report also notes that withdrawals declined by nearly 55% during the first half (H1) of 2026, while deposits consistently remained 2 to 6 times higher than withdrawals, indicating rising investor confidence and a preference for long-term participation.
In terms of trading trends, stablecoins accounted for 38.5% of total trading volume, while memecoins attracted the highest number of unique traders. Meanwhile, Bitcoin, Ethereum, and Layer-1 tokens together contributed 28.4% of the total trading volume.
The report also highlights the growing popularity of WazirX Zero, the platform’s subscription-based trading model. Zero users generated nearly twice the trading volume of pay-per-trade users and demonstrated five times higher repeat engagement.
The derivatives segment also witnessed significant growth. Futures trading value increased by 300% between March and June 2026, while more than 93% of futures traders also remained active in spot trading, reflecting strong cross-product engagement.
To further strengthen platform security and transparency, WazirX launched its ‘Guardians of Trust’ initiative and integrated with global digital asset custody provider Fireblocks. In addition, Recovery Tokens were successfully issued to all eligible users within the court-approved timeline.
To simplify tax compliance, the company has also launched Taxlyst, a free crypto tax reporting platform that enables users to import transactions from multiple crypto exchanges, calculate gains and losses, and generate tax-ready reports.
WazirX said it will continue to focus on driving safe, simple, and accessible crypto investing in India through enhanced products, stronger security measures, faster platform performance, and an improved customer experience in the months ahead.
