Kolkata: Emphasising that a child’s growth begins at home, Dakshini Prayash, a non-profit organisation dedicated to community development, organised a Parent Engagement Session on Good Parenting at Madurdaha Satyavritti Vidyalaya in collaboration with the National Education Board for Parents Training. Around 40 parents of students from Classes VI to X actively participated in the initiative.
The session underscored a critical yet often under-discussed aspect of education—parental training as a foundation for a child’s academic success, emotional stability, and physical well-being. Experts highlighted how a supportive and safe home environment directly influences children’s learning abilities, behaviour, sleep patterns, and overall lifestyle. Discussions focused on building healthy routines, improving attention span, and understanding children’s psychological and developmental needs.
President Anubhuti Prakash said, “A child’s mental and physical development is deeply rooted in the home environment. When parents are aware, supportive, and engaged, it creates a strong foundation for lifelong learning and well-being. Through such initiatives, we aim to empower parents with the right knowledge and approach.”
A participating parent shared, “This session made me realise how small changes at home can positively impact my child’s studies and behaviour. It was truly eye-opening.”
By promoting informed parenting, Dakshini Prayash continues to strengthen its mission of nurturing resilient individuals through its core pillars of education, health, self-reliance, and sustainable development.
