10th NEZ International Film Festival Concludes with Grand Celebration and Prestigious Awards

Kolkata, March 31, 2025: The 10th edition of the NEZ International Film Festival successfully concluded with a grand celebration at Satyajit Ray Auditorium, ICCR, Kolkata. Organized by NEZ Foundation in association with Forum for Film Studies and Allied Arts, the four-day festival, which commenced on March 28, showcased a rich selection of 16 films from across the globe, providing an enriching cinematic experience for audiences.

The festival was inaugurated by Actress and Model Ms. Richa Sharma, with Sri Sudip Srimal, Vice President of Forum for Film Studies and Allied Arts, as the chief guest. NEZ Foundation, founded by Sudeep Ranjan Sarkar and co-founded by Ms. Rita Jhawar, has been instrumental in curating an international platform that celebrates cinema, art, and culture.

The festival opened with the Italian film Tornando A Est, produced by renowned Italian filmmaker Maurizio Paganelli and Ms. Natalia. The film, which was well received by a packed audience, set the tone for a remarkable festival. The festival also welcomed esteemed Italian actresses Paola Bonacina and VIVI Goi, who showcased their film Women Outside Female Inside, directed and produced by Roger A. Fratter.

The closing and awards ceremony on March 31 was a magnificent affair, featuring three unique fashion shows. Designer Santanu Guhu Thakurta presented a tribute to Bengali cinema by showcasing 10 models representing female actors from 10 decades. Ranjita Bhattacharya brought to life the concept of Unity in Diversity, reflecting the cultural richness of India’s four zones, while Gulsan Banu celebrated the Assamese Mekhala dress. The evening was further enriched by mesmerizing performances, including a dance recital by world-renowned artist Sanchita Bhattacharya and a soulful instrumental saxophone performance.

The event was graced by eminent personalities, including renowned filmmaker Gautam Ghosh, who attended as the chief guest. The Golden Director Award was conferred upon Suman Mukhopadhyay, recognizing his contributions to cinema. Several high-ranking officials, including IG-rank officers from Kolkata Police and SSP Debarshi Dutta, also attended, highlighting the festival’s growing significance.

The festival honored outstanding films and filmmakers with various awards, including:
• Infinite Vista Award (Overall Best Film) – Tornando A Est (Italian Film, produced by Maurizio Paganelli)
• Showcase Category Award – Women Outside Female Inside (Directed & Produced by Roger A. Fratter)
• Best Director & Best Cinematography Awards – Winter Rains
• Best Concept Award – Shav se Shiv (Directed by Kimti Manawa)

Additionally, several other awards were presented across various categories, recognizing artistic excellence and cinematic brilliance.
